To Walk The Shores of Years Gone By (Hand in Hand)

Today is the day you will remember the rest of your life,

God has brought you together to join as husband and wife,

It is a blessing for man and woman that they may join as one,

Matrimony is such a blessed bond of His will being done,

I pray for you both, I truly do and I will during formative time,

Discovery of shared hearts meld to be one such as in this rhyme,

Obstacles will rise to be overcome and with each your love will grow,

An insurmountable object will fall like a dam releasing love to flow,

The will to conquer such may come from just a touch of the hand,

From but a whisper to our Lord in desperation He will understand,

Request guidance of heart and mind that you may receive wisdom,

I pray your love melds as one that you’re given a key to His Kingdom,

With but a soft touch assurances of love, support, and more are shown,

A reassuring smile can announce to others your love that it be known,

May you one day walk the shores of years gone by built upon falling sand,

During strife reach back to this day of joy and touch your spouse’s hand.
