My Rocking Horse With You

Oh on our rocking horses the things we use to do,

Across the wild plain we rode having fun we two,

My little sister at my side she rode along the way,

Her horse was a beauty and she rode her every day,

She was a cute little girl wearing a six gun at her side,

I’ll tell you true here and now she filled me with pride,

She quickly drew her gun as fast as anyone nearby,

With Kay-ee at my side I felt safe under our blue sky,

When morning came each day she’d tell me what to do,

She grabbed blankets to saddle up ol’ brown and ol’ blue,

It seems that was the names our steeds wore this day,

Powerful horses they were made of wood, iron and clay,

We chased Bonnie and Clyde although out of date,

Our act was mesmerizing though we were often late,

Kay-ee scolded me at times as sweetly as she could,

Not truly a scolding but of care when packing as I should,

I must have all my bullets and my guns must shine too,

Some days we dressed the same the best we two could do,

Oh the fun we use to have riding our horses all day long,

I don’t know the words now but we often sang a song,

A tear has come into my heart as well it’s filled my eyes,

Age has overtaken me, in truth my age won’t permit lies,

As time closes my path I reflect in thought of those I love,

I love Sis Kathie most of all and she’ll join me in the above,

I’ll see my little rocking horse at the gates awaiting me,

Perhaps once more it will come to life just for me to see,

I’ll grab a blanket to saddle up, to ride to mom and dad,

And at last I’ll rejoin the best parents a little boy ever had.

The end, I love you Kathie
