As I review my sixty eighth year of living my very charmed life,<\/span><\/p>\n

The joy of life would have been absent but for my beautiful wife,<\/span><\/p>\n

I have wings of flight that have taken me to heights unknown,<\/span><\/p>\n

With lift given of her I have risen and with God I have flown,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

With love she whispered life into my ear as my heart waned,<\/span><\/p>\n

As I expired God gave me a gift to feel how her heart pained,<\/span><\/p>\n

So deep the pain that I prayed with a sincerity unknown to me,<\/span><\/p>\n

As I fought to remain the twilight of Heaven was pulling me free,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Time, oh sweet time, if a gift can be given me let it be time,<\/span><\/p>\n

To hold her tenderly while we waltz as we did in my prime,<\/span><\/p>\n

Hours expire like minutes as I search each for a little more,<\/span><\/p>\n

The prayers I pray are bound with my heart as never before,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Increments of my romantic life shows an evolution of heart,<\/span><\/p>\n

A tenderness unknown by me was seen by her from the start,<\/span><\/p>\n

An inspirational photograph was enough to survive the war,<\/span><\/p>\n

Three weeks with her gave me strength I hadn’t known before,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I have survived so much, too much to list in but a rhyme,<\/span><\/p>\n

It was for her I fought and prayed each and every time,<\/span><\/p>\n

Every time she walks into the room I see her as I did before,<\/span><\/p>\n

Each time I feel the vitality of youth as I want her even more,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Tonight I will hold and be held as I thank God for giving me time,<\/span><\/p>\n

A tear will fall from my angel’s eyes as she reads this little rhyme,<\/span><\/p>\n

Her meek little smile fools the unknowing of her love for me,<\/span><\/p>\n

I pray to be holding my angel Patti upon my birthday century.<\/span><\/p>\n
