A crisis has fallen upon the land yet I feel safe and secure,<\/p>\n
I have lived a dream of enchantment, of that I\u2019m very sure,<\/p>\n
Throughout my life I have often had reason to utter a sigh,<\/p>\n
Today I am frightened of a virus that targets elders to die,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Others too have died in this pandemic that is worldwide,<\/p>\n
My eyes begin to water as I think of those that have died,<\/p>\n
As the newscaster speaks tears consume my eyes to flow,<\/p>\n
None report the news unbiased for the innocents to know,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Innocents die and bodies are thrown into landfills in haste,<\/p>\n
Fear creates non normal actions to treat bodies like waste,<\/p>\n
I must touch you as my link to our reality and my sanity cue,<\/p>\n
In war\u2019s surround when young sanity came thinking of you,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
My universe has been consumed by a microbe I can\u2019t see,<\/p>\n
Seems this unseen enemy has no bias other than elders we,<\/p>\n
I\u2019m thankful the youthful are slightly safe in pillage of death,<\/p>\n
Many elders of Italy have died as the virus takes their breath,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The innocents are spared it seems as they survive the fog,<\/p>\n
An unseen fog covers the landscape creating a dialogue,<\/p>\n
Countries that never speak asking for help for their people,<\/p>\n
And country\u2019s try to prevent worship when outside a steeple,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Time overwhelms me as age consumes my weakened frame,<\/p>\n
Is the dream of fulfillment an illusion with the virus to blame,<\/p>\n
I\u2019ll love you till the end and hold you close until the end of time,<\/p>\n
I\u2019ll hold you close even if convicted of a too close virus crime.<\/p>\n
