Will I leave this life in a blaze of glory or quietly slip away?<\/span><\/p>\n

I prefer to quietly pass on with you near if I have my way, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

To look into your eyes and remember when I was still young, <\/span><\/p>\n

The memories of a first kiss and the taste of your tongue, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A heavenly kiss becomes a treasure when soldiers leave, <\/span><\/p>\n

Words escape too quickly to explain, I pray you do believe, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Things were so different in nineteen sixty eight it’s true, <\/span><\/p>\n

Burning like a comet across the sky I was on fire for you, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You were gold and a treasure created by His Hand no doubt, <\/span><\/p>\n

And I of the strongest steel processed to be triple A stout, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Never intended to go to war I was a protestor of war after all, <\/span><\/p>\n

Because of loving you I chose to accept my military draft call, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

After war’s torment and a deteriorating of steel I came home,<\/span><\/p>\n

If not for you I would not have survived, I would be all alone, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Like a raging warrior of one I stood tall when needed in the fray, <\/span><\/p>\n

For you I entered the fray of ten to save my treasure that day, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In a blaze of love’s glory for her I soared like a missile locked in, <\/span><\/p>\n

Time seized to be for a moment or two then I heard you again, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I felt no ribs break or fingers snap until I knew you were okay, <\/span><\/p>\n

Brother Steve joined the conflict without concern one other day, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is no better way to exit the fray than a family victory high, <\/span><\/p>\n

Like two diamonds in the rough we cut through time’s dark sky, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Exuberance only known of Kings was shared in victory that night, <\/span><\/p>\n

When our loves are endangered there’s no hesitation to fight, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Launched by our father’s courage and our mother’s foresight, <\/span><\/p>\n

In minutes with our angels safe we ended the assailant’s fight, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That was thirty years ago and I wonder how many more came, <\/span><\/p>\n

I once knocked a classmate out when he spoke your name, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Lust and sex came from his mouth as if I would enjoy his word, <\/span><\/p>\n

To say you want to xxxx a man’s wife so loud everyone heard, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Is an invitation to imagine it unconscious for awhile you filthy man, <\/span><\/p>\n

Say it again and again I will hit you in the face as hard as I can, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The past twenty years I’ve been spent fighting diseases and more, <\/span><\/p>\n

Actually it’s been much more but I’d rather discuss heaven’s door, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

From heaven she must have come as I’ve seen her from there, <\/span><\/p>\n

Her beauty is beyond any woman and I’ve been most everywhere, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Perhaps it is she that came from heaven like a blaze from above, <\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve closed my eyes and imagined her flying down filled with love, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Gift wrapped in the black of sky with diamonds sparking through, <\/span><\/p>\n

There is no other way to package true love if sent from heaven too, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Imagine the beauty of such brought from a beautiful angel to you, <\/span><\/p>\n

So much love escapes her heart it bursts forth and it shines through, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Love rips from my chest unable to be contained as she comes near, <\/span><\/p>\n

There is no woman more beautiful than her I still see enough clear, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Imagine what seems a container in the field all alone but sparkling, <\/span><\/p>\n

Escaping starlight and reflected gold along with diamonds twinkling, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Her heart is bountiful of love for me to such extreme it’s hard to see, <\/span><\/p>\n

Next to her is a vessel of me filled with love of the highest degree. <\/span><\/p>\n
