The Angst of Separation<\/span><\/h2>\n

I woke from a slumber that seemed to be a hundred years or more, <\/span><\/p>\n

As I looked across the landscape I wondered what else was in store, <\/span><\/p>\n

I walked the desert sand as heat waves created mirages unfit to drink, <\/span><\/p>\n

Heat of day penetrated my soul so deeply I found no way to think, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As I stumbled across barren soil made mostly of sand and dry dust, <\/span><\/p>\n

I saw an angel in the distance that begged me on across earth’s crust, <\/span><\/p>\n

So shapely of form ”twas the angel” yet my crusted eyes barely saw, <\/span><\/p>\n

Soon I had to crawl as I was weakened of thirst and my throat was raw, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As I laid in heat I dreamed of the angel and realized she was of you, <\/span><\/p>\n

I awoke to find raindrops falling to form small puddles of rain and dew, <\/span><\/p>\n

I sipped of many puddles until I had my fill of the miracle of desert rain, <\/span><\/p>\n

When deep in the water’s reflection I saw a man aged and filled of pain, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He sat alone in a place that seemed to overflow of a memory once held, <\/span><\/p>\n

Staring at empty squares of the spaces where photographs once dwelled,<\/span><\/p>\n

Clean spaces on an aged wall awaiting Kilz to overcoat a good time past, <\/span><\/p>\n

That thought saddened my heart to think of how quickly a lifetime is cast, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When within my mind I felt a tug that summoned my heart to a place, <\/span><\/p>\n

My speeding heart announced your image as it does upon seeing your face, <\/span><\/p>\n

Am I in deep reflection or is a reflection from the deep all that I can find, <\/span><\/p>\n

Have I passed through the ages or have I wondered to you from the blind, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I feel the angst of separation I once knew from a time that seems long ago, <\/span><\/p>\n

As I depart the chains of loneliness fear creates sensations I use to know, <\/span><\/p>\n

Will time be of such quantity that I might fulfill dreams now that I’m near you, <\/span><\/p>\n

As I ponder and stare in absence of strain I’m unsure now what I should do, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Suddenly I see elephants that seemed to wave goodbye with their trunk, <\/span><\/p>\n

A trumpeted sound from deep inside those beasts made me feel drunk, <\/span><\/p>\n

What does it mean I wondered to my now intoxicated state of mind, <\/span><\/p>\n

Startled at such a sight I awoke to find slumber had created the find, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Are you okay?” delivered me unto you with a startle I cannot describe, <\/span><\/p>\n

How often have I dreamed of you and awoke with words I had to scribe, <\/span><\/p>\n

My recently repaired heart was pounding hard against my breast plate, <\/span><\/p>\n

The sound of your voice has ignited love’s desire into a powerful state, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The beauty of your eyes in morning light ignites more within than just lust, <\/span><\/p>\n

Childlike wonderment fills my heart as my aura is suddenly forward thrust, <\/span><\/p>\n

I feel the essence of who I am engulf you as we truly meld momentarily, <\/span><\/p>\n

Awake, once again I’ve escaped being the missing photo no one can see. <\/span><\/p>\n

\nAs the Sky absorbs daylight and darkness engulfs the night, <\/span><\/p>\n

I think of you as I reach for an angel before she takes flight, <\/span><\/p>\n

Over and over my mind pulls forth memories of loving you, <\/span><\/p>\n

They are many, my memories, well over a trillion and two, <\/span><\/p>\n

Your beautiful smile is in every memory along with your kiss, <\/span><\/p>\n

Over and over the memories of making love bring soft bliss, <\/span><\/p>\n

Have you felt an empty night or have I held you near and tight, <\/span><\/p>\n

\nI\u2019ve reached so often through the stars in search of love\u2019s grasp, <\/span><\/p>\n

When found it doesn\u2019t come as expected with release of a gasp, <\/span><\/p>\n

A joyful smile came across my face as my heart responded in kind, <\/span><\/p>\n

True my heart didn\u2019t smile but it did find the love within my mind,<\/span><\/p>\n

Once I found my angel’s touch I realized how quickly love can grow,<\/span><\/p>\n

Her touch, her smile, her everything, I desperately wanted to know,<\/span><\/p>\n

Passion seemed to present her aura that it could sync within mine, <\/span><\/p>\n

Love\u2019s brilliance can\u2019t be described unless you\u2019ve seen Patti shine,<\/span><\/p>\n

From but a kiss of ten minutes came a lifetime commitment to her, <\/span><\/p>\n

If reason came to avoid marriage vows, our love would still prosper, <\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps it\u2019s brought by her precious kiss that gave a lifetime imprint, <\/span><\/p>\n

Vocal vows penetrate mankind\u2019s souls when said as a commitment,<\/span><\/p>\n

At a point within each day of life, since our first kiss I\u2019ve pondered, <\/span><\/p>\n

I think of \u201cthe kiss\u201d as it\u2019s known, and pray time not be squandered, <\/span><\/p>\n

Each moment with her is beyond spoken word when said of its worth, <\/span><\/p>\n

My love is beyond every word of language since spoken word\u2019s birth,<\/span><\/p>\n

If only she could penetrate my being and our essence\u2019s be joined, <\/span><\/p>\n

My written rhymes describe that to only her my heart is conjoined, <\/span><\/p>\n

\nAs fresh as a springtime breeze in floral surround, <\/span><\/p>\n

Memories captured deep along with every sound,<\/span><\/p>\n

Of you they are, so fresh of love and tender touch,<\/span><\/p>\n

The girl I so deeply love and desire so very much,<\/span><\/p>\n

She is a lingering gaze whilst in thoughts of her,<\/span><\/p>\n

Only can she come near to make love within stir,<\/span><\/p>\n

My breath escapes when approached for a kiss,<\/span><\/p>\n

Capturing a bit of her breath into mine is of bliss,<\/span><\/p>\n

Out of my head as I float near her essence of amour,<\/span><\/p>\n

I whisper into her ear that becomes a \u201clover\u2019s implore\u201d,<\/span><\/p>\n

A slow setting sun changes the mood so that you hear,<\/span><\/p>\n

Each bird in song sings for her I\u2019m sure without doubt,<\/span><\/p>\n

In the sounds of the coming night I stand firm and stout,<\/span><\/p>\n

And I hold her near my beating heart that she may feel,<\/span><\/p>\n

Pulsations of Love in flow through me that are real,<\/span><\/p>\n

Starlight through a springtime breeze is special indeed,<\/span><\/p>\n

If only she knew I am bound with no desire to be freed,<\/span><\/p>\n

Penetration of love into my form brings sensation within,<\/span><\/p>\n

A tune of heavenly song is a melody filled with love of you,<\/span><\/p>\n

Each word seems in place for you and to be spoken true,<\/span><\/p>\n

Show me how love transpires if vacant one so complete,<\/span><\/p>\n

What will man find if unable to taste of lips full and sweet,<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve asked myself time and again do I respond as I should,<\/span><\/p>\n

Of the fifty years passed I\u2019d relive every moment if I could,<\/span><\/p>\n

I remember nights when we began so very long ago,<\/span><\/p>\n

The drums and bugle of war drafted young men to go,<\/span><\/p>\n

A long kiss of goodbye brought tears never known before,<\/span><\/p>\n

\nShe\u2019ll never know the sadness in my heart when I see me now,<\/span><\/p>\n

Will I ever again be whole before I depart from Mother Earth,<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet I know her pain should I part as I\u2019ve been hers since birth,<\/span><\/p>\n

Deep Thoughts Of Loving You<\/span>
\nWhile deep in thought I thought of you and I wondered why,<\/span><\/p>\n

Why was a lifetime of love given to such an unworthy guy,<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve loved you since my birth although it doesn\u2019t sound true,<\/span><\/p>\n

How you wonder could an infant and child be in love with you,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I have loved the idea of love and loved the thought of but one,<\/span><\/p>\n

One angel, one person, that loves but one until her life is done,<\/span><\/p>\n

Her heart, your heart, is given me, in thought, in your soul too,<\/span><\/p>\n

How did our bond come to be, do my spoken words ring true?<\/span><\/p>\n

Those values of you were born within my soul some time ago,<\/span><\/p>\n

I was in love with that girl when desires of love began to show,<\/span><\/p>\n

Through a window late one night my eyes vowed my life to her,<\/span><\/p>\n

Towards her I walked in stride knowing love was all I could offer,<\/span><\/p>\n

I knew she knew somehow that her life was now bound to mine,<\/span><\/p>\n

Live life two years more then you will be given love of a lifetime,<\/span><\/p>\n

From a locking of our together we became conjoined as but one,<\/span><\/p>\n

Live life and have some fun as upon my return that time is done,<\/span><\/p>\n

A wartime draft notice took me away from her and all I knew,<\/span><\/p>\n

Loving her had filled my short life and she would fill it in war too,<\/span><\/p>\n

Oh how my heart cried for her, oh for but her tender touch I cried,<\/span><\/p>\n

While home after two years our kiss stated our love was undenied,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

To be without word from her or she without letters written of me,<\/span><\/p>\n

Became so very painful to me and her, akin to a wartime tragedy,<\/span><\/p>\n

Letters written of my hand were never seen by her beautiful eyes,<\/span><\/p>\n

A letter written by her could have strengthened a heart that cries,<\/span><\/p>\n

It took nearly forty years for confirmation of my written word,<\/span><\/p>\n

Her mother said she read my letters in a manner jokingly absurd,<\/span><\/p>\n

My thoughts were \u201cat last!\u201d as I\u2019m sure doubt filled Patti\u2019s mind,<\/span><\/p>\n

Bless the heart of my little bride as hiding my letters was unkind,<\/span><\/p>\n

Her eyes were filled with tears upon her mother\u2019s announcement,<\/span><\/p>\n

I had many things to say yet I held my words at bay of deployment,<\/span><\/p>\n

For her heart I didn\u2019t speak my mind as I could see pain in her eyes,<\/span><\/p>\n

From lonely word of heart it\u2019s true, at night a lonely soldier cries,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On a hot August evening I was born with Texas heat all around,<\/span><\/p>\n

At times sidewalks held the heat so you could fry on the ground,<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s true of the heat but also of the cold as it could go far down,<\/span><\/p>\n

Bugger by night they\u2019d say of a wild place called Borger town,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Despite the heat there I was, eight pounds was full of love for her,<\/span><\/p>\n

The dreams I\u2019d have were all of her, my love I would not squander,<\/span><\/p>\n

I swear that love for her is more precious than its weight in gold,<\/span><\/p>\n

How I wonder could that be, how much gold is in a 24 karat hold?<\/span><\/p>\n

To be loved by her is precious, more precious than the richest mine,<\/span><\/p>\n

She truly gives her life to you as she cares for you with love divine,<\/span><\/p>\n

Her heart is a vessel of undying love that I\u2019m blessed to have known,<\/span><\/p>\n

From her kiss I am made a better man and of her love, I have flown,<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve heard her voice in a whisper of comfort for my battered frame,<\/span><\/p>\n

Somehow she sought me out upon my return and called my name,<\/span><\/p>\n

Within her soul she knew that had survived the war to return to her,<\/span><\/p>\n

Her love is true and given to me, the boy with only his name to offer.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nAt times I\u2019m asked to explain how it is that I\u2019ve been married for so long,<\/span><\/p>\n

I was born as her protector and her reactor when energy\u2019s use was due,<\/span><\/p>\n

Although fractured truth come forth a solid response I couldn\u2019t construe,<\/span><\/p>\n

Through her eyes I\u2019ve seen the cutest things a man could possibly see,<\/span><\/p>\n

It had to be seen by the eyes of a beautiful soul to be translated properly,<\/span><\/p>\n

\nMy heart awakens to the normal sounds of morning in my surround,<\/span><\/p>\n

Though I have faced the worst of times her beauty has made me cry,<\/span><\/p>\n
