The Greatest Cargo I Will Carry (written September 1965)

The greatest cargo I will ever carry is within my heart to give away, <\/span><\/p>\n

It is there for you my angel if only you would wake and look my way, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Once empty and cold the feelings of love were in dreams far away, <\/span><\/p>\n

From the darkness came the light from such an unexpected display, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Will you ever know the influence you’ve had on my heart and my mind, <\/span><\/p>\n

How can it be that in another’s room I would walk into my lifetime find, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You own the most precious cargo that I discovered but a month ago, <\/span><\/p>\n

In a series of dreams you were seen as someone I would never know, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Oh please don’t ever leave me until you have had time to learn more, <\/span><\/p>\n

The only love I have known is but a month in creation from before, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In a dimension of love’s fortune I saw the girl of whom I have dreamed, <\/span><\/p>\n

When you came by to say hello to me did I stare for as long as it seemed, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Tonight in my bed I will hold your image tightly and whisper in your ear,<\/span><\/p>\n

In a series of dreams I will find you in a rose garden and hold you dear, <\/span><\/p>\n

No man knows the boundaries of his will unless tested with true love, <\/span><\/p>\n

It’s a testimonial to free will given by God as he created all from above, <\/span><\/p>\n

I give of my love willingly please be kind as it will only be given to you, <\/span><\/p>\n

Please don’t ever break my heart as I don’t know what I can live through, <\/span><\/p>\n

A month ago I still felt to be a boy until I walked into a star in the sky, <\/span><\/p>\n

And now that I know love I will never ask of its making or ask why, <\/span><\/p>\n

Today I am a man so deeply in love to remain such until the end of time, <\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve told you I’m in love with you many times but I’ll say it again in rhyme, <\/span><\/p>\n

As you walk away through the door I feel I may cry just to see you go, <\/span><\/p>\n

Look into my eyes and listen, I am the greatest love you will ever know.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nocturnal Parade<\/span><\/h2>\n

In a midnight parade the creatures of the night are walking by, <\/span><\/p>\n

It was a beautiful sight to see so many even those that could fly, <\/span><\/p>\n

One by one these creatures of night paraded by making their sound, <\/span><\/p>\n

Squeaks, squeals, whistles, hoots and more in this night’s surround, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How I wondered did such a thing as this become possible or real, <\/span><\/p>\n

Then to amaze my mind I saw flowers of passion ride a cart of steel, <\/span><\/p>\n

Moonflower so bright and white bloomed to release its essence, <\/span><\/p>\n

All this with flowers abloom made me wish I was in your presence, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When you came to be right next to me it awoke my mind to even more, <\/span><\/p>\n

As this nocturnal parade of life came to be I was aroused by amour,<\/span><\/p>\n

It was but a moment in time when you and I were the youths of before, <\/span><\/p>\n

‘Twas an evening of fortune I supposed aloud as I asked you for more, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It was quite loud yet quietly I spoke asking of my keel of which I mused, <\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, quite loud it was, the nocturnal parade of which I was very amused, <\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps my speaking of my vessel now has left all of you a bit confused, <\/span><\/p>\n

The beautiful Patti and I came to see this parade that made us bemused, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How can two words come to be so similar in sound of quiet and quite loud, <\/span><\/p>\n

An oddity of speech I’ve used however use of these words made her proud, <\/span><\/p>\n

She lights to show my way although she lights upon the floor from a cloud, <\/span><\/p>\n

Of her descriptions fall short if only usage of more language was allowed,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

See, the beautiful Patti and I had braved the seas of life’s turmoil to be, <\/span><\/p>\n

In this place of nocturnal oddity of which I’ve written just to please she, <\/span><\/p>\n

It’s within our hearts that love dwells yet shared through unknown force, <\/span><\/p>\n

My need to feel her beauty as she accepts me kept my keel on course, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Oh yes she was beautiful to such extreme envy filled the hearts of peers, <\/span><\/p>\n

The teller of my rhyming tale must testify she is beautiful beyond her years, <\/span><\/p>\n

On a vessel powered by desire’s passion we have gone where fate steers, <\/span><\/p>\n

The keel of my vessel is firm of belief that her love of me conquers my fears, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our journeys in life have taken us far and possibly too far for the masses, <\/span><\/p>\n

So many beautiful sights we have shared as we’ve made love on grasses, <\/span><\/p>\n

All the thoughts of a man have flowed through my soul and earthly chassis, <\/span><\/p>\n

So sensuous to touch as I’ve learned every nuance through passion classes, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Her thoughts are within her heart to remain secure unless released aloud, <\/span><\/p>\n

I have touched upon her soul as she has told me I have made her proud, <\/span><\/p>\n

No greater honor has a man than to be at her side in the parade’s crowd, <\/span><\/p>\n

Name me “man of the year” as Patricia Napier’s man to put me on a cloud, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The finality of life is difficult for those souls that haven’t journeyed beyond,<\/span><\/p>\n

As I have departed my body to float near her while keeping strong our bond, <\/span><\/p>\n

For her I live, in death I will serve as her guardian with love’s armor I’ve donned, <\/span><\/p>\n

As the parade concludes of nocturnal oddities I pull close the one I’m so fond, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For a kiss from her has more power than that of airliners high in the sky, <\/span><\/p>\n

Without thrust or power of man’s creation her kiss can make men fly, <\/span><\/p>\n

I’m the chosen one in her life, the protector of whom she has come to rely, <\/span><\/p>\n

I fall into her heart at night as she caresses my soul and says, “you’re my guy”. <\/span><\/p>\n

Chasing Fireflies<\/span><\/h2>\n

Chasing fireflies one night with a full moon above the rise, <\/span><\/p>\n

Worries of heart escaped one by one with count of the flies, <\/span><\/p>\n

A setting sun and a rising moon on opposite sides of the earth, <\/span><\/p>\n

With a rebirth of happiness I wondered what is a firefly’s worth, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On a warm September night I saw your image high in the sky, <\/span><\/p>\n

Yes I was playing like a child watching clouds float I won’t deny, <\/span><\/p>\n

As I laid on my back to watch the cloud of you drift slowly by, <\/span><\/p>\n

The purity of love engulfed me with sensations making me cry, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Soon fireflies and butterflies of the evening were dancing in air, <\/span><\/p>\n

As each thought of my past came through I found I didn’t care, <\/span><\/p>\n

Because of you I’m filled with love and said farewell to despair, <\/span><\/p>\n

In but thirty seconds of joy I’ve realized this is the face I’ll wear, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fireflies and butterflies dance but a minute or two as the sunsets, <\/span><\/p>\n

Then I wondered do butterflies leaving the night carry any regrets, <\/span><\/p>\n

Thinking that firefly was so cute I wish I had taken just one chance, <\/span><\/p>\n

Tomorrow with courage I swear I’ll ask that glowing firefly to dance, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Upon realizing I was once that butterfly and you were the light I saw, <\/span><\/p>\n

So happy I had the courage to ask you out although I had many a flaw, <\/span><\/p>\n

Then a light came on to awaken me that I was asked out by a cute firefly, <\/span><\/p>\n

Each time I was lost you found my soul to tell me you were standing by. <\/span><\/p>\n

Happy birthday Patti, from every place within my soul I love you, <\/span><\/p>\n

On this day of celebration I want to give everything you’re due, <\/span><\/p>\n

It’s a day mostly celebrated by me more than anyone on earth, <\/span><\/p>\n

For it is I that has benefited more than anyone of your day of birth, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If within my power I’d do something no man has ever done before, <\/span><\/p>\n

From deep within Mother Earth I would seek her finest gold ore, <\/span><\/p>\n

So much I would have to learn that I may sculpt of the purest gold, <\/span><\/p>\n

First I’d perfect your form then smelt my ore to pour into your mold,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Then with my own hands I would sculpt for you our story of mystery,<\/span><\/p>\n

For all to see I’d craft statues of you chronologically through history, <\/span><\/p>\n

And from a mountain high I would erect the largest statue in stone, <\/span><\/p>\n

With wings spread wide to take flight to your man, scared and alone, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When hardship beckons no matter where you’ve found your way to me, <\/span><\/p>\n

As I exited the fray beyond my endurance every thought came to be, <\/span><\/p>\n

No matter when, no matter where, I’d see an angel with long dark hair, <\/span><\/p>\n

From across the earth you came as your body slept your spirit was there, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

At the most critical moment of my life you came with no time to waste, <\/span><\/p>\n

From a dream only a week before I had seen an angel arrive in haste, <\/span><\/p>\n

Was each appearance while so fraught with danger the sleeping you, <\/span><\/p>\n

During my weakest moments I’d experience a miraculous rendezvous, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And once more you came to me but this time you spoke very different, <\/span><\/p>\n

Somehow it seemed as if you knew your man’s flame was nearly spent, <\/span><\/p>\n

Your request of my promised return said “I love you with all my heart”,<\/span><\/p>\n

From heaven’s garden came nourishment so needed that I’d restart, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Through health and woes you’ve appeared to rescue me through strife, <\/span><\/p>\n

My sweet beautiful angel I celebrate the birthday of my wonderful wife, <\/span><\/p>\n

Words come from my heart without hesitation anytime I’m asked of you, <\/span><\/p>\n

I love her more than words can describe, I know she loves me this way too, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I’ve thought back through time to realize I met you near a special day, <\/span><\/p>\n

No doubt it was very near your birthday because I think I heard you say, <\/span><\/p>\n

When asked your age you said I just turned fourteen but a day or so ago, <\/span><\/p>\n

My mind has aged so much I can’t recall it all but I’m sure that I know, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

From my mouth came words of suggested sex but even more of my love, <\/span><\/p>\n

“I’m in love with you, I’m going to marry you”, no doubt we fit like a glove,<\/span><\/p>\n

Now after fifty one years of my loving you I say, “happy birthday to you!”, <\/span><\/p>\n

I love you more than life, it seems each word I spoke to you has come true.<\/span><\/p>\n

My Gift to You (Everlove) 09-21-2016<\/span><\/h2>\n

Will she ever know the feelings that I carry so deep inside, <\/span><\/p>\n

Within my being is a world where each emotion can reside, <\/span><\/p>\n

Places exist within this world where creations of love exist, <\/span><\/p>\n

Memories and dreams combine to create what I can’t resist, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I’ve danced on air alone from but a smile she had gifted to me,<\/span><\/p>\n

The photograph I carried of my angel helped me avoid tragedy, <\/span><\/p>\n

Her name is etched in my heart and with every beat it’s felt, <\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve a heart that’s seasoned with love for she whom I’ve dwelt, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Love’s creation comes from memories and sensations we feel, <\/span><\/p>\n

Memories and heart thoughts merge to create a love that’s real, <\/span><\/p>\n

In a place unknown I discovered a different love no man has seen, <\/span><\/p>\n

The sensations hold more value than gold as I felt all at eighteen, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Within my heart is found “everlove”, a love formerly unknown, <\/span><\/p>\n

For one and only one has this power of Everlove been shown, <\/span><\/p>\n

Few have known such love that Shakespeare describes in plays, <\/span><\/p>\n

It’s how love is shown or should I say “for her I would have died”,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Near half a century I’ve worn her image around what I am inside, <\/span><\/p>\n

For I am wrapped of her creating a love that can’t be denied, <\/span><\/p>\n

From His hand came a creation that meets my every desire, <\/span><\/p>\n

If tested by unkind words towards her it quickly draws my ire, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There’s a notch somewhere in my mind that’s filled of only she, <\/span><\/p>\n

Matched ten fold is another within my heart that will always be, <\/span><\/p>\n

If each day was shown as a picture of me it would be of her too, <\/span><\/p>\n

A sign that said, “he lived his life for her” would be so very true, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Everlove is endless love, everlove begins with her and goes on, <\/span><\/p>\n

Such love is so strong it will be upon earth long after I am gone,<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s a love so enormous that it can’t be contained within the being, <\/span><\/p>\n

Inside my mind are heavenly images of her that only love can bring, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In a land within my soul exists a spot where seasoned love dwells, <\/span><\/p>\n

Where stories of true love exists along with poetry and lover tales,<\/span><\/p>\n

My belief in God and His creations helps me to understand free will, <\/span><\/p>\n

To know that she has chosen me is what excites my aged heart still, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I’ve felt her touch through time and space when in desperate need,<\/span><\/p>\n

Love is far too small a word for us thus I search for words that exceed, <\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve described our love as a lone diamond lingering at times edge forever, <\/span><\/p>\n

A unique bond of love that is transmitted one to the other by love’s tether,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So deep within my heart is that spot that triggers emotional elation, <\/span><\/p>\n

Creating every response of love and desire for her through saturation, <\/span><\/p>\n

I must look up to see her as I’ve placed her upon a pedestal long ago, <\/span><\/p>\n

My image of her still shines of gold yet unchanged for eternity to know, <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

With but a touch I’ve been healed of desperation when horribly ill, <\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve looked into her tear filled eyes and had my heart create new will, <\/span><\/p>\n

She is the depth of the best I am and prays for my most shallow part, <\/span><\/p>\n

Everlove in its truest form, is loving her forever with all of my heart.<\/span><\/p>\n

The knot is forever tied with love and lonely marination,<\/span><\/p>\n

Even more so it is saturated with my marriage day elation,<\/span><\/p>\n

Put my emotions on parade I want the world to see my love,<\/span><\/p>\n

Let it be read from all directions even miles and miles above,<\/span><\/p>\n

Use a canvas made of gold flake with sterling silver frame,<\/span><\/p>\n

Just paint a painting with one thing my beautiful angels name,<\/span><\/p>\n

The fame of our love will be worth more than the silver or gold,<\/span><\/p>\n

Love proven by my time alone and the prayer time she’d hold,<\/span><\/p>\n

Erect a band stand high that the band is heard for miles around,<\/span><\/p>\n

Write songs of our love so famous people know each line or sound,<\/span><\/p>\n

Play it loud and play it proud the song you sing is about my dear,<\/span><\/p>\n

I want everyone across the land especially the veterans to hear,<\/span><\/p>\n

Bring armored cars and trucks to protect our love from harm,<\/span><\/p>\n

Big red fire trucks with wailing sirens as if answering an alarm,<\/span><\/p>\n

TV cameras around covering the news of the day and what we do,<\/span><\/p>\n

Every reporter of paper and TV want a picture of me kissing you,<\/span><\/p>\n

You will soon be famous and I just know you’ll be on TV,<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s a beautiful painting of you to be unveiled for all to see, <\/span><\/p>\n

They will be in awe of this beautiful nude presentation of you,<\/span><\/p>\n

The townsmen gather round saying I would love her for life too,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Shoot off fireworks into the sky so high for everyone to see, <\/span><\/p>\n

It’s a fiery representation of the long time fire burning in me,<\/span><\/p>\n

A speech will soon be heard by all as they gather round to hear,<\/span><\/p>\n

As crowd noise hushes down, I say ” I love you Patti my dear”.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the way home on a beautiful day I realize,<\/span><\/p>\n

That I am one of the worlds luckiest of guys,<\/span><\/p>\n

Today raindrops tap a tune to the wiper’s rap,<\/span><\/p>\n

But any day is beautiful if I can lay in your lap,<\/span><\/p>\n

Blend in the rumble of this road’s landscape,<\/span><\/p>\n

As I recall arousal of your breath on my nape,<\/span><\/p>\n

It gives my breath pause and a steady quiver, <\/span><\/p>\n

It seems a dream when you kiss and deliver,<\/span><\/p>\n

I lose control at times just thinking of you,<\/span><\/p>\n

You bring clarity of fog leaving skies of blue <\/span><\/p>\n

Like summer’s rain you deliver what I need,<\/span><\/p>\n

Transcendent Journey<\/span>
\nI ventured out on a transcendent journey to learn more of you, <\/span><\/p>\n

Into a mystical enchanted place of uncharted waters I felt askew, <\/span><\/p>\n

With no physical form to anchor my soul I flew into the unknown,<\/span><\/p>\n

Flying untethered by physics I defied the laws of man we’ve known,<\/span><\/p>\n

Will each star in the heavens welcome me home upon my return, <\/span><\/p>\n

Once when drafted I was shunned by citizens to feel an odious burn, <\/span><\/p>\n

Pray tell Ye of Creation that never again will I feel such painful slight, <\/span><\/p>\n

It is now a century halved yet the memory haunts me every night, <\/span><\/p>\n

Soon I entered a place I recognized yet I didn’t recall the place at all, <\/span><\/p>\n

Befuddled by my lack of memory I sought safety and a place to fall, <\/span><\/p>\n

As fast as I can think I saw snapshots of a misplaced sailor in the night, <\/span><\/p>\n

They are attempts of assurance that my words of love for you are heard, <\/span><\/p>\n

As I looked around in this place of magic I found answers I needed to know, <\/span><\/p>\n

Each time I departed it was an entry from the other side from which I flew, <\/span><\/p>\n

Dimensional planes have no thickness yet they are too vast for one mind, <\/span><\/p>\n

Best explained as a loop for time has no movement mankind will soon find, <\/span><\/p>\n

As I exit to re-enter my lifetime fore and aft I can see where I stand today, <\/span><\/p>\n

My fingers are placing digital ones and zeros to light up the iPad’s display, <\/span><\/p>\n

I soon came upon a stranger that I recognized as being the future me,<\/span><\/p>\n

When asked a question of how are you he said “open your eyes to see”, <\/span><\/p>\n

He pointed with his finger directly at me and said “all of this is inside you,<\/span><\/p>\n

The questions and answers are within you, look nearby you’ll find a clue”, <\/span><\/p>\n

Tethered at my side not too far away lays my best friend and wife too, <\/span><\/p>\n

Without loving you I would be empty with nothing for my fingers to do, <\/span><\/p>\n

My best friend is my wife I’m happy to announce and to say it is true, <\/span><\/p>\n

When I exit this dimension to enter the next I say “it will be loving you”. <\/span><\/p>\n

Quickly I’d waif the news of such until loving memories came to my mind,<\/span><\/p>\n

How strange it is that I recall the darkness that’s void thoughts or sensation, <\/span><\/p>\n

I fear that place as I need dreams of loving you that I may feel love’s elation, <\/span><\/p>\n

With a jolt everything returns to me as pain courses through me like a plague, <\/span><\/p>\n

A switch is flipped making me aware of the pain as air for my lungs is vague,<\/span><\/p>\n

\nNo matter what, each day I’d wait for you, through rain and heartache too, <\/span><\/p>\n

Pain\u2019s Course is Conquered by Love<\/span>
\nA soft whispering breeze carries a message of times long past, <\/span><\/p>\n

I ask myself in bewilderment is it true that what transpires is cast, <\/span><\/p>\n

Is my love enough to carry me through another illness and pain, <\/span><\/p>\n

It’s not the agony or pain but the anchor of illness that I so disdain, <\/span><\/p>\n

One two three four, try again, try once more, let me catch my breath, <\/span><\/p>\n

Again I touch your hand as darkness invades holding me above death, <\/span><\/p>\n

Without a doubt I will wake in agony as broken stones invade again, <\/span><\/p>\n

\nIn your weakness of passion a veil is lifted to reveal so much more, <\/span><\/p>\n

Exposed to my eyes is a reality that there is so much of you to adore, <\/span><\/p>\n

You fear this persona as control is lost to the sensation of your desire, <\/span><\/p>\n

I too am lost in a world of sensation as your kiss sets my heart afire, <\/span><\/p>\n

My heart beats hard against your chest, for you my heart will not tire,<\/span><\/p>\n
